This summer, Cycling Ireland Youth Development Officer for Ulster, Barry Scott, held a total of 5 Kids Summer Camps, aimed at introducing more kids to cycling and developing further, those already cycling.

Three were held at the Cycling Ulster Hubs (Garvagh, Fintona & Downpatrick),one was organised in conjunction with Banbridge CC. and one held in Gortin Forest Park.

They ranged from 2-3 days over a couple of weeks and were broken down into age groups.

These camps give kids the opportunity to learn new skills and make friends, whilst having a really positive experiences with cycling.

Over 80 kids took part at the camps!

We are always looking to introduce more kids to cycling.

These Camps couldn’t have gone ahead without the support of our coaches.

Thanks to Beefy at Race-Fit MTB, Leona from Newry Wheelers, Olly from Omagh Wheelers as well as the support from Fermanagh & Omagh District Council as well as Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.

We look forward to our continued collaboration.

If you, or your club would like to get in touch about growing or starting a youth section, or you have any interest in learning new skills and becoming a coach please get in touch.

We plan to expand and grow the youth numbers over the coming months and years and make cycling a really exciting and enjoyable experience for kids and parents to come along and enjoy!
