The Wallace Caldwell Memorial promoted by Ballymena Road Club is the centre to the road racing action in the province this weekend. This event takes place on Saturday along with the Lakeland GP in Fermanagh. On Sunday, Harps CC promote the Mid Ulster GP, this also includes a round of the Cycling Ulster Women’s RR League and the Cycling Ulster Youth League.

 

Wallace Caldwell Memorial – Saturday 21st April

One of the most popular races in Ulster, the Wallace Caldwell Memorial race takes place on Saturday. Sign-on from 9.00 to 10.45. Rolls out from Rex Bonar House at 11.00 heads out of Ballymena to Ahoghill, Maghera, Garvagh, Ringsend, Limavady and returns through Kilrea to Finish on the Fenaghy rd Galgorm. 75 Miles in total. This is one of the province’s ‘A’ listed races with support of the PSNI motorbikes to assist with the running of the event.

Lakeland GP – Saturday 21st April

Mid Ulster GP  – Sunday 22nd April 

The Mid Ulster Grand Prix sponsored by BSK Engineering & promoted by Harps Cycling Club takes place on Sunday.

 

A & B Race Info

Sign-On is at Mid Ulster Sports Arena, Tullywiggan Road, Cookstown, BT80 8SG between 11:00 and 12:30.

Assembly point is Kilcronagh Road, Cookstown at 12:45 for the race start at 13:00.

The A1, A2 and A3 will be a handicapped race of 6 laps of a 10 mile circuit and the Terry Sheehy Memorial A4 Race will be help over 4 laps of a 10 mile circuit as below:

There will be shower and changing facilities at the sign on location .

Light refreshments  and prize giving will also be at the sign on location 30 mins after the main race has finished .
