National

Aviva Community Fund

Description:
The Aviva Community Fund has relaunched and is calling on small charities and community interest groups with an annual turnover under £1 million to submit their community projects on Crowdfunder for the chance to gain up to £50,000 in funding. Projects must fall within one of their two key funding areas: Community resilience and Financial capability and inclusion. 

Unlike previous rounds, there are no activity categories or funding levels. Instead, eligible causes will create a project page where Aviva employees and the public can contribute.

Woodward Charitable Trust – Summer Play Schemes

Description:
Each year the trustees of the Woodward Charitable Trust set aside funds for summer playschemes for children between the ages of 5-16 years. Specific preferences listed after the link.

Social & Community Capital 20th Anniversary Grants

Description:
To celebrate their 20th Anniversary, Social & Community Capital are offering seven £20,000 grants to help organisations develop a project that creates a positive impact for communities in need. One grant will be awarded in each of the following regions around the UK: Scotland, North, Midlands & East of England, South West, Wales, London & South East, and Northern Ireland. Priority include: employment, training and education; income and financial inclusion; mental health and well-being.

National Lottery Community Fund – Empowering Young People

Description:
Grants are available for voluntary and community sector organisations for projects in Northern Ireland that build the skills and capabilities of young people (between the ages of 8 and 25 years) to give them the ability to cope with the challenges they face in their lives. Funding can help with some or all eligible project costs: staff salaries, training, volunteer expenses, equipment, premises costs, evaluation, overheads.

Community Relations Council – Publications Grant Scheme

Description:
Grants are available to publishers, to encourage the production and dissemination of publications that contribute to a greater understanding and better community relations in Northern Ireland.

Rural Start Up Fund

Description:
An opportunity for rural businesses to receive financial support as they embark on a new business venture. A total of £5,000 is available in the Rural Start-Up Fund in 2020, to be awarded to one winning business or shared between a number of rural start-ups.

BBC Children in Need – Small Grants Programme

Description:
Small Grants programme is open to charities and not-for-profit organisations applying for any amount up to and including £10,000 per year for up to 3 years.  Does cover staff costs. Check the information below to see if your project should apply and that you meet the minimum standards for grantmaking.

Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland – Community Grant Programme

Description:
Following a strategic review Halifax Foundation now has a new streamlined application process and a raft of new grant programmes which includefunding for core costs. The following grants are now available –

  • Small Community Grants (Up to £2,500/12 month grant/Rolling programme)
  • Medium Community Grants (£2,500 – £10,000/12 month grant/Rolling programme)
  • Long Term Community Grants (Up to £50,000/Over 3 years/Programme opening in January, closing28 February)
  • Special Initiatives Programme (Aimed at supporting the Third Sector/Strategic in nature/NI Wide potential/Up to £20,000/closes 28 February)

Causeway Coast & Glens Council – Building a United Community Fund

Description:
Grants are available to support Good Relations community projects in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area (max. £1,500). Guidance included.

Belfast City Council – Policing Committee Funding Grants

Description:
Applications are now open for District Policing and Community Safety Partnership (DPCSP) Policing Committee grants for North and East Belfast
Policing Committee Grants of up to £2,000 are available for groups who meet the criteria outlined within our guidance notes. Up to two grants can be provided per group, per year, however the projects must be different from each other.

Cregganconroe Community Benefit Fund

Description:
Funding will be available to local community projects within a 10km/6 mile radius of the wind farm. The Community Benefit Fund will be administered by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland and will provide a fund available for local projects that educate, raise awareness and demonstrate community involvement in work that promotes environmental issues and healthier lifestyles.

Inishative Community Benefit Fund

Description:

Mid-Ulster Council Grants

Description:
Applications can be made for grants in the Sports Representative (club and individual), Community Festivals, Good Relations and Capital Discretionary categories on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Mid & East Antrim Borough Council Grants

Grants are available for qualifying groups throughout the Mid and East Antrim Council area.

  • Funding for Events  (Major, medium and small). Deadline: Tues 31st March @ 23:59.
  • Funding for Individuals – Coaching courses and First Aid Training up tp £250. Deadline: Tues 31st March @ 23:59.
  • Grants for groups – Deadlines Tues 31st March 2020 @ 23:59
    • Equipmentgrant – 75% funding Max £2K (Items excluded PCs, laptops, tablets, mobile phones and items of personal or team kit, clothing and uniforms)
    • Seeding/New Group Grants – funding up to a maximum of £300
    • Public Liability Grants (to obtain Public Liability Insurance) – funding up to a maximum of £300
    • Coaching course and First Aid Training – funding up to £250 per person
    • Development Projects and Training – 75% funding Max £2K
