It is with great sadness that Cycling Ulster has learned of the death of Billy Armstrong.

Billy was a former member of the Cycling Ulster Executive and served as a manager of provincial teams on many occasions. A stalwart of Northern CC, Billy joined the club in the 1960’s and was an active member ever since.

More recently however Billy will be remembered on the Irish road racing scene for providing support via the team car to his son Adam and his club mates at events throughout the season.

Billy took great joy from the achievements of Adam who has been a prolific winner on the domestic scene throughout the last decade after his father had helped nurture his development from a young age.

Cycling Ulster extend our sincere condolences to Billy’s family, friends and club mates.
