After a one-year hiatus, the Youth Tour of Scotland is back.
As Europe’s premier youth stage race, with a residential experience that offers many wrap-around benefits and learning opportunities, Scottish Cycling is delighted to be staging the event again in 2024.
In 2023 they were forced to take a year out, as operating costs soared and they had to look at ways they could ensure the event could have a long-term, sustainable future.
Cycling Ulster will travel to Scotland with a talented group of young cyclists to compete in one of Europe’s premier youth stage races supported by
Katie Neil & Kevin McCambridge.
The race will once again be contested over five stages, starting with a Prologue, and finishing with the infamous Kermesse around the school grounds, with two Road Races and a Team Time Trial in between.
These will all be raced on fully closed roads, with a full race convoy.
The event will be held at Strathallan School, Perthshire between Friday 5th April – Monday 8th April.
Age categories are:
• Youth Group A Boys under 16

The squad have been preparing for this event, and the start of the race season, at home with a number of training days taking place across the region.
Selection of the teams was very difficult given the high standard of the squad. Those not selected on this occasion are in great shape for Ràs na Nòg, the first youth stage race in Ireland taking place over the same weekend.
“With so many great memories from my time representing Cycling Ulster at the YTOS as a rider, it really is a pleasure to give something back and try to help the current group of young riders achieve the best results possible. Hopefully we can all enjoy the event and learn something from the experience”. Katie
“I am incredibly excited to be part of the Cycling Ulster Road Commission this year. The last few weeks we have been organising training days for our youths. We have picked out eight riders that will be attending Youth Tour Of Scotland and with the work put in and the results coming through, I am super excited to see what we can do across the water! Not just with the riders selected we have also managed to setup a great starting point for our other youths going into the road season. It’s shaping up to be a good year.” Kevin
Cycling Ulster are delighted to have such a talented group looking after the team, with both Katie and Kevin having competed in the event and bringing their international experience.
We wish the team a great weekend of racing.
