Women’s New to Cyclo-Cross League
After the fantastic success of the Women’s TT League, many asked us what our plans would be for the winter. We’re excited to share that, with the support of the Cycling Ulster Off-Road Commission and the expertise of Martin Grimley, we are launching a Women’s New to Cyclo-Cross League.
What is Cyclo-Cross (CX)?
Cyclo-cross is a fun and dynamic cycling discipline that takes place on mixed terrain – think grass, mud, gravel, and short technical sections. Races usually feature laps of a closed circuit with obstacles that sometimes require you to hop off and run with your bike. It’s a brilliant way to build bike handling skills, keep fitness levels up during the winter, and enjoy the social, supportive atmosphere of the CX community.
Why a Women’s CX League?
We know that stepping into something new can feel daunting, and we want to make cyclo-cross as accessible as possible for women who may not have tried it before. This league is designed to be beginner-friendly, encouraging, and inclusive, giving women the chance to learn, race, and most importantly, enjoy the sport together.
