The flagship event in the Irish youth calendar, the All Ireland Youth road, time trial and criterium championships are promoted by Ballymoney CC and Dunloy CC this weekend. Also on offer for senior competitors is the Madigan GP, Donegal Bay CC TT and the North Down GP.
Madigan GP – Saturday 18 August
Team Madigan Cycling Club, Carrickfergus will promote the Madigan Cycles Grand Prix at Kilroot near Carrickfergus Co. Antrim starting at 11.00am and finishing at around 1.15pm on Saturday 18th August 2018. Sign-On and Changing / Showers etc. will be in the Eden Community Centre, Beltoy Road, Kilroot.
The race is again kindly sponsored by Mr Ronnie McKeegan of Madigan Cycles / Pro Bike Centre in Carrickfergus . A generous prize fund of £600 is up for grabs. The main (A) race will be 55-miles 3 laps for A+, A1, A2, A3 riders. There will be Cash prizes for the first 6 over the line, plus first unplaced in each category. The (B) Race for A4 category will be 2 laps = 36 miles with the first 6 riders over the line taking cash prizes. The Ladies will have their own race and can enter on the day only / not via Entry Central, and again it will be 2 laps = 36-miles. The first 3 over the line win cash prizes. The Masters category for over 50 vets is also 2 laps = 36 miles and cash prizes for the first 3 riders over the line. Over 50s must also enter on the day at Sign-On!
Sign-On is from 9.15am to 10.45am. Light refreshments will be available after the racing in Eden Community Kilroot. (Please note there is no underage racing!)

Donegal Bay CC 10 miles TT – Saturday 18 August
Donegal Bay host an open 10 miles time trial on the Bundoran/Ballyshannon bypass on Saturday.
Registration on the day.
Sign on from 8.00 – 9.45am.
Entry 15 Euro.
Cycling Ireland Limited Competition licence or above required.
Rear light on bike compulsory for all participants.

Sign-on for the North Down GP is on from 9:00am at Donaghadee Community Centre. Womens & Over 50 riders will be neutralised to race start at 10.00am (separate races) and 12.00pm (A1,2,3 & A4) – all details still to be confirmed. Sign on closes at 11:30 am for PM races!

Sign on is both the Friday evening (17th) from 6.30pm until 9.30pm and will be held at the Dunloy CC Hub in the centre of the Village
Sign on Saturday morning is from 7.45am – 8.30am.

The first event is the Individual Time Trial a 4.7 mile (7.5km) U shaped course. This test begins outside the Primary School on the Bridge Road LHT onto the Glenbuck Road (Lower), LHT onto the Bellaghy Road to the finish in the centre of Dunloy where there will be a good crowd to welcome the riders.The first rider is off at 10.00am Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to Boys and Girls in the following categories….U11/U12/U13/U14/U15/U16
Riders will be set off in Age groups starting with U11 – U12 – U13 – U14 – U15 and U16
The Start List will be published prior to the event on the 18th
IMPORTANT NOTICE…..There will be gear checks at the end of the TT …..anyone who fails to get their gears checked will be given the time of the slowest rider.
Nats Road Race Circuit
Sign On from 12.45pm until 1.30pm
The Road race is on the Glenbuck Circuit featuring a tough climb each lap through the finish line, the circuit is 6.5 miles (10.4km)
The race starts at the top of the Glenbuck climb at heads into the Long Mountain range above Rasharkin, a LHT onto the Mullan Road, then a LHT onto the Duneaney Road and descends towards the LHT onto the Killagan Road and immeadiately LHT onto the Bridge Road a rolling road and a LHT at the Bridge Bar onto the Glenbuck Road and the finish.
Boys and Girls – All age group races will be run as separate events
U11 and U12’s will race will race one lap (1 lap)
U13 and U14’s will race two laps (2 laps)
U15 and U16’s will race five laps (5 laps)
ALL the races finish on the Glenbuck climb
SIGN ON – Dunloy CC Hub (Centre of the Village)
The circuit is 1.4 miles long (2.3km) course with a town and rural surroundings. The start is on the Bellaghy Rd in the village and a LHT onto the Anticur Road fast downhill into a LHT to the Carrowdoon Road, a LHT onto Station Road and an uphill finish.

U15 and U16 – 40mins plus 2 laps
U13 and U14 – 25 mins plus 2 laps
U11 and U12 – 5 laps
