Telefónica Tech extends sponsorship with local cycling club
The extension of the partnership will enable continued support for the development of the club’s senior, women’s, youth, and junior teams.
Telefónica Tech is proud to announce the renewal of its landmark partnership with Banbridge Cycling Club. The technology company has confirmed the extension of its sponsorship to continue supporting the development of the club’s senior, women’s, youth and junior teams.
Telefónica Tech, who became the first-ever jersey sponsor in Banbridge Cycling Club’s more than 80-year history, has played a vital role in the club’s recent growth and success – on the race circuit and in the wider community. A major highlight for the 2025 racing calendar took place in May , with Banbridge Cycling Club’s participation in the Rás Tailteann, Ireland’s premier multi-stage cycling event.
As part of the 2025 agreement, the Telefónica Tech logo continues to feature prominently on the Banbridge Cycling Club race-team jerseys, including those of the men’s and women’s road and mountain bike teams and the junior race teams.
Lee Glover, Senior Account Manager at Telefónica Tech and club member said: “People are at the heart of Telefónica Tech and community is such a key focus for us in everything we do. This is a partnership that works on so many levels for Telefónica Tech, aligning with our prioritisation of physical and mental health and wellbeing as a company. We are delighted to continue our arrangement with Banbridge Cycling Club and are incredibly excited to see the race teams go from strength to strength wearing the jerseys.”
Aaron Wallace, Chairman of Banbridge Cycling Club, said: “Banbridge Cycling Club has enjoyed a very successful three years supported by Telefónica Tech, with the agreement exceeding our expectations both on and off the bike. From contributing to staff wellbeing days in the Belfast office to boosting participation and performance on the bike, it’s been a mutually beneficial partnership. The sponsorship has driven a membership increase of over 25%, with notable growth among women and young people locally. Our focus on talent development is paying off, and we’ve especially loved seeing our riders win in Telefónica Tech branded kit. I’m thrilled to see this successful partnership extended for another three years – we have exciting plans for 2025 and beyond, and Telefónica Tech’s continued support is key to making them a reality.”
Digital transformation company, Telefónica Tech, continues to grow its presence in Northern Ireland, with more than 330 staff based at its office in Belfast’s Catalyst building in Titanic Quarter.
