Matthew Teggart of the Cycling Ulster team narrowly missed out on a second stage victory in this year’s Rás Tailteann when he led in the bunch to the finish in Blackrock this afternoon, three seconds behind another Ulster rider, Kevin McCambridge of Trinity Racing.

Teggart ended the race in fifth place overall with Darnell Moore and Lindsay Watson the next best placed riders of the Ulster team in 12th and 17th.

The Cycling Ulster team also finished second in the County Team Classification.

Other Ulster riders with notable success in the event included Adam Ward who won the third stage, Dean Harvey, winner of the KOM Classification and Odhran Doogan, second on the penultimate stage.

Cycling Ulster want to thank our kit sponsors, O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors and our vehicle sponsors, Donnelly Group for their continued support as well as the support staff led by the team manager, Barry Monaghan and all of the riders for their tremendous efforts during the week.
