Newry Wheelers are currently planning the Newry 3 Day Cycling Race, taking place on Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2026, and we are writing to ask for support from fellow clubs and individuals across the cycling community.
As everyone involved in race organisation knows, running a three-day event places a significant strain on a small volunteer club. While Newry Wheelers are fully committed to delivering a safe, well-organised and enjoyable race, we cannot do it without wider support.
We are seeking help across a wide range of roles, including:
– Marshals
– Finish line support
– Drivers / convoy support
– Race personnel
– Race committee members
– First aid / medical support
– General event support
There are lots of jobs and lots of opportunities to help, and support can be for one day, multiple days, or specific roles.
👉 Drivers (important note):
Due to the cost and complexity of vehicle insurance, we would particularly welcome support from drivers who may be able to assist across the full weekend. Having the same driver for multiple days significantly reduces costs and helps with continuity, though we fully appreciate this may not be possible for everyone.
