After the success of our Women’s Intro to Time Trial League, Cycling Ulster is excited to explore the launch of a new category: Intro to Time Trial – The Road Bike Edition. This category would be part of the Ernie Magwood Super Six Series and is aimed at riders who are curious about Time Trialling but don’t have a TT bike.

What is it?
The Intro Road Bike category is designed to give riders the chance to experience racing against the clock on a standard road bike, without the need for aero bars or specialist equipment. It’s a beginner-friendly opportunity to try Time Trialling in a relaxed, supportive environment while being part of one of Ulster’s premier cycling series.

Training and Support
Before the first round, Cycling Ulster will host a training and Q&A evening to explain how Time Trials work, what to expect on the day, and tips for new riders. This is a great chance to ask questions, learn the basics, and feel confident before your first event.

Why we need your input
At this stage, we’re asking riders to express their interest so we can gauge demand and plan the category effectively.
Your feedback will help us understand how many people are likely to take part and ensure we provide the right support for everyone.

How to express your interest
If you’d like to try Time Trialling on your road bike, please fill out our Expression of Interest form here

Completing the form only takes a minute and will help us plan this exciting new category.
We encourage anyone interested to sign up and join us in shaping the future of Time Trialling for road bike riders in Ulster.
