Following his win in today`s (Saturday) stage two of the Newry 3-day, last year`s event winner, Jake Gray (Nicolas Roche Performance Team) takes over the leader`s Yellow jersey going in to tomorrow`s final stage.
Gray held on to win the stage by 15 seconds from a hard-charging 35 rider bunch, with his winning margin giving him a slender 8 second cushion on overnight leader Cathal Smyth, with Liam Wilson (Powerhouse) a further 9 seconds back.
With less than 30 seconds separating the top 20, there is still all to play for in tomorrow`s 73 mile stage, with Gray keen to be the first back-to-back race winner in the event`s 28 year history.
McKinley Contracts Newry 3-day Overall Classification after 2 stages.
