The Foyle 3 Day delivered a brilliant weekend of youth racing, thanks to the tireless efforts of Foyle CC.
Once again, the club pulled together a well-run and highly valued event, providing young riders with a rare and invaluable opportunity to experience a stage race on the road- something that plays a crucial role in their development.

The racing kicked off on Friday evening with a Criterium that offered a fast and exciting start to the weekend. Held in a great location, the course gave riders the chance to race hard and test themselves in a competitive environment.

Saturday’s Road stage brought challenging conditions with strong winds and heavy rain, but riders from U12 through to U16 showed great resilience and determination throughout. The final stage on Sunday added more climbing and more weather, rounding off the weekend with a tough but rewarding test.

Ulsterโ€™s youth riders showed a strong level of talent across the weekend, securing stage wins, podiums, and impressive performances in each category. It was a clear reminder of the ability that exists within the region, and the importance of continuing to nurture it through racing opportunities like these.

Events like the Foyle 3 Day are essential to the pathway of young riders, and without the tireless commitment of clubs like Foyle CC to organise and deliver them, those opportunities risk disappearing. Supporting these races, whether through entries, volunteers, or development backing, has never been more important.

We were proud to be on the ground throughout the weekend, offering support, advice, and assistance to the riders where possible, while also lending a hand to the club with vehicle and logistical support. Being present and visible at events like this allows us to connect directly with riders and clubs, and help ensure the success of weekends like this one.
