This year the Cycling Ulster Leisure Commission hosted the first ever Ulster Leisure Series.
Three events were chosen to kick start the new series with a focus on development and participation of recreational cycling.
The events were geared towards promoting participation in sportives, providing a challenge and enabling people of all ages and abilities to access cycling.
One of our showcase events was even included in the Cycling Ireland National Leisure Series! This years leisure events included:
*Ring of Cuilcagh hosted by Smugglers Cycling Club (Co Cavan)
*Bangor Coastal Challenge hosted by North Down Cycling Club (Co Down)
*Tour of South Derry hosted by Carn Wheelers (Co Derry)
The Cycling Ulster Leisure Series King and Queen will be announced at Cycling Ulster Awards Night in January. To be crowned King or Queen members had to attend all 3 events in the series before being entered into a prize draw for a £100 voucher at a Partnership Stores of their choice.
The Cycling Ulster Leisure Series Club of the Year will also be announced at the Cycling Ulster Awards Night in January. One point was allocated for every kilometre/mile a club member completed at each of the three events.
The top club on our leader board will win either a set of bike cameras for the club or get their Cycling Ireland Affiliation Fee paid!
We can hardly wait to announce the winners! Stay tuned ……..
