The Cycling Ulster Off Road Commision held the first of 4 development days planned for 2020 on Sunday the 26th of January in Gosford. Lead by Gareth McKee the day was focused on developing techniques to enable riders to compete at XC racing events in the coming season.

15 riders in total attended from U14 through to U23 level. The first part of the session focused on cornering with all components covered including body position, line choice, and braking. The group then split into two and proceeded under the guidance of Gareth McKee and Graham Boyd for the U16 and above, Mark Harvey and Brendan Doherty took charge of the U14’s assisted by Ruth McKee and Dylan Lyness. Both groups concentrated on smooth techniques and carrying speed around the trails.

Overall a successful day was had and riders all picked up some great advice from the coaches. The Off Road Commission would like to thank all who attended and especially the coaching volunteers who without them this day wouldn’t of been possible.
