Following the conclusion of a busy racing season on Ulster roads we are delighted to announce a number of newly qualified Grade B Cycling Ireland Commissaires within the province. Back in February this year Cycling Ulster, with the assistance of the Cycling Ireland College of Commissaires, promoted a Foundation Trainee Commissaire training course in Armagh City . Attendance numbers were good and a number of those who successfully passed their Trainee written examination went on to complete a season as Trainee Commissaires where they shadowed and assisted some of our more experienced Comm’s, and even managed some races of their own. Having reviewed the feedback submitted the CI College of Commissaires recently confirmed the successful promotion to National Grade B Commissaire for the below Cycling Ulster members;
· Mario Arranz
· Jonny Beers
· Francis Coyle
· Drew Murray
· Laura Wilson
This increased pool of available Grade B Comm’s within the province will hopefully assist us in providing more coverage and support for an ever increasingly busy Ulster road racing calendar. Naturally there is still much to learn for the newly qualified Comm’s, which will come from experience, but we congratulate them, wish them well in this step on their careers as Road Race Commissaires, and look forward to seeing them early in the 2018 season donning their fresh blue uniforms as Cycling Ireland Commissaires.
