The Nomination and Standards Policy for the Northern Ireland Cycling Team for the 2022 Commonwealth Games is now available.
The Commonwealth Games takes place in Birmingham from 28 July to 08 August 2022. The Games is a global spectacle featuring 6,600 sports men and women from across 72 nations and territories.
The schedule of cycling events on the programme includes road, track and mountain bike disciplines.
The nomination criteria outlines the performance standards required for members of the Northern Ireland Cycling Team.
The key objective for the administration of the cycling programme is to ensure that the best cyclists achieve nomination to the Commonwealth Games Council for selection to the Commonwealth Games team to represent Northern Ireland in selected cycling disciplines.
The final selection to the Northern Ireland Commonwealth Games Team is not made by Cycling Ireland. The Northern Ireland Commonwealth Games Council will select the team based on nominations and therefore attaining the required performance levels does not guarantee selection.
