Cycling Ireland released the below Expression of Interest on 4th May 2026.
Expressions of interest are invited from NI athletes that have been accepted onto the Team Northern Ireland longlist for the Commonwealth Games, Glasgow 2026.
Cycling Ireland is conducting the nomination process to Team NI as part of the published policy available here: CITeamNINominationPolicyV2ID.pdf
Track Cycling is the only cycling discipline to feature at this year’s scaled back event in Glasgow following Victoria’s (Aus) withdrawal last year. Team NI has been allocated a quota, which will be joined by para-cyclist Chris Burns who has already secured his para specific spot dealt independently by Commonwealth Sport from the main allocation. Please complete the expression of interest form here: Expression of Interest – Team NI 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games – Fill in form by midnight Weds 13th May, following which the nomination panel will consider all candidate athletes and nominate to Team NI.
Note, only athletes which have met the performance criteria and are already on the longlist are able to put themselves forward at this stage. Any enquiries may be directed to selection@cyclingireland.ie
