Cycling Ulster is delighted to announce the launch of the Youth Summer CX series.

Building on the enthusiasm and participation generated by these events last year, the Youth CX Summer Series launches with an expanded programme designed to introduce even more young riders to the exciting world of cyclocross.

The initiative was created with a simple goal: to provide fun, youth-focused events during the summer months that allow children to experience cyclocross in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The series aims to:

• Introduce more young riders to cyclocross during the warmer months.
• Provide shorter, more accessible events for those who may not have experienced CX before.
• Create enjoyable opportunities for young people to make friends and socialise through cycling.
• Encourage the development of fundamental bike handling and cycling skills.
• Provide a pathway into autumn and winter cyclocross competition.
• Offer a safe off-road environment where young people can develop confidence on their bikes.

Cyclocross is one of the best disciplines for developing all-round cycling ability. Through a combination of bike handling, balance, cornering and decision-making skills, young riders gain confidence that benefits them across all areas of cycling.

The Youth CX Summer Series places participation, enjoyment and development at the heart of every event. While riders will have the opportunity to challenge themselves and test their skills, the emphasis remains on creating positive experiences that encourage long-term involvement in cycling.

Cycling Ulster would like to extend its sincere thanks to all of the host clubs and volunteers who have committed their time and resources to delivering this year’s series. Their dedication is essential to creating high-quality events and ensuring young riders have safe, enjoyable opportunities to participate.

Details of all rounds can be found in the accompanying series graphic, with entries opening soon. We encourage young riders of all abilities to get involved, whether they are taking their first steps into cyclocross or looking to build towards the upcoming CX season.

We look forward to welcoming riders, families, volunteers and supporters to another exciting summer of youth cyclocross.
