We have an update on this year’s Ulster Road Race Championship.
A few months ago, Cycling Ulster were delighted when Lakeland CC stepped up to host this years event.
Unfortunately, at the last minute major roadworks on a critical part of the proposed circuit meant that the event could not safely go ahead as planned.
We want to thank Lakeland CC for all the work they have put into preparing for the Championship and for their commitment to the event.
Behind the scenes, Cycling Ulster has been working hard to find a solution.
We’re delighted to announce that Armagh City Cyclists will now host the Ulster Road Race Championship as part of their planned event on Sunday 6 September.
This is a massive undertaking at such late notice, and it is our sincere thanks that the committee of Armagh have shown such desire to succeed.
We are aware this clashes with the end of the Ras na mBan, impacting some of our racing women, however, there were no alternative dates available, and we need to ensure this long standing provincial event take place.
The Championship will take place on the Killylea circuit, giving us a fantastic opportunity to keep this important date in the Ulster racing calendar.
