Cycling Ulster Team Set for the 2026 Junior Tour of Ireland
Cycling Ulster is delighted to announce the riders who will represent the province at the 2026 Junior Tour of Ireland, taking place in County Clare from Tuesday 7th to Sunday 12th July.
The Junior Tour is one of the biggest races on the junior calendar and gives young riders the chance to test themselves against some of the best talent from Ireland and around the world. Six days of hard racing, challenging terrain and international competition make it a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and continue their development.

This year’s race will cover over 560 kilometres across six stages, with a mix of fast racing, rolling roads and tough climbing that will challenge the riders every day.
The race gets underway on Tuesday 7th July with a 63km opening stage from Ennis to Barefield. Riders then head west for Stage 2 to finish in Kilkee, before a brand-new Stage 3 finishes in Whitegate. Friday’s fourth stage takes the riders through the Burren before finishing in Kilfenora, while Stage 5 heads to Ballyallia Lake on the outskirts of Ennis. The race concludes on Sunday 12th July with the always exciting Ennis Circuit Race, where the final overall standings will be decided.
As well as cheering on the Cycling Ulster team, we would also like to wish James Armstrong the very best of luck as he represents Ireland with the national team. It’s a fantastic achievement to be selected and we look forward to following his progress throughout the week.
