There are several leisure events in the province this weekend and with the road racing season set to begin next weekend, pre-season Reliability Trials serve as great preparation.

West Down Wheelers Coastal Run – Saturday 29th February

Sign-on in the Hall on the Katesbridge Straight from 8 to 9.15. Setting off at 9.30, £10 sign on with £15 for day licence. 

Please note – no double parking or parking opposite a house drive in as there is Milk lorry’s and Tractors to get in, plenty of parking at the back of housing estate.

Toby’s Cancer Fund for Children Ride – Saturday 29th February

This charity leisure event takes place over 28 miles with sign-on at Balmoral Hotel, Blacks Road, Belfast from 9am and roll out at 10am. (Youth Group Age 10-16 rolls out with main Group shorter distance). Estimated finish 12:15pm.

The event organisers are asking for a minimum £10 donation on the day or at our just giving page HERE or Via Paypal to vcglendale@btinternet.com 

Tea, Coffee, tray bakes 12:30pm-1:30pm
Bar Refreshments available also on the day (Not supplied by the Club)

Omagh Wheelers Valentine’s Cycle and Reliability Trial – Sun 1st March

Omagh Wheelers have plenty of routes to choose from at this event. Sign-on is at Drumragh GAC, Clanabogan from 8.45am with the first group away at 9.30am. Entry fee is £10 for CI members and £15 for non-CI members.

There are 3 routes to choose from:
Leisure route 1 – Clanabogan, Dromore, Mini Burns, Drumquin, Omagh, Clanabogan – 25 miles.
Leisure route 2 – Clanabogan, Lack, Enerney, Castlederg, Drumquin, Omagh, Clanabogan – 47 miles.
Reliability route – Clanabogan, Dromore, Irvinestown, A32/A47 roundabout, Kesh, Ederney, Castlederg, Drumquin, Omagh, Clanabogan – 67 miles.

Dunloy Reliability Trial – Sunday 1st March

Sign-on for the annual Dunloy Reliability Trial takes place at Dunloy Parish Hall with roll out at 10am. The event entry fee will be £10 for CI members and £15 for non-CI members.

After the event a warm welcome awaits with hot drinks and refreshments.

Island Wheelers Reliability Trial – Sunday 1st March

Island Wheelers host its rescheduled 100km reliability trial on Sunday.

Sign-on will be from 9am in Gortgonis Sports Centre, Coalisland. Roll out will be at 10.00am for the main group and 9.30am for the leisure group. Entry is £10 for everyone with the exceptions of youth which will be £3.

There will be a short refreshment/toilet stop in Toome for the 100km route.
The main group will be an ideal fitness test ahead of the racing season for all those planning to race the following weekend. We have also planned to keep the main group together until through Cookstown due too traffic lights through the town.

This is an official Cycling Ireland event and all cyclists must have a current licence, if not there will also be one day licence on the day at an additional cost of £5.

Cycling Ulster Women’s Race School – Sun 1st March

The third CU Women’s Race School session will take place on Sunday at 10 am. It will be based at White Horse Hotel, Derry. If you haven’t already signed up and would like to attend you can contact julierea@ntlworld.com.
