Cycling Ulster Youth Academy will be holding their first training day for the incoming season on Saturday 3rd February. The session will be held at YouthSport, Omagh. Sign on will be open from 9:30. This day will form part of our selection process for the CUYA teams for the Youth Tour of Scotland. We have also been requested to select riders from the training day to attend the National Youth Academy Camp in Castlebar on 17th/18th February. The NYA camp will be open to U16, U14 and U12’s. We have no other details of the NYA camp at present. In order to be considered for either the CUYA team or the NYA camp, riders must have attended this session.

We expect a large number of riders, but are also keen to include any Junior Girls who wish to ride out with the CUYA girls.

At our training day, we aim to take riders out on a road spin. They will be accompanied by the Powerhouse Junior Team and some senior riders. In the event of bad weather, could riders bring either turbo or rollers as a backup plan.

Riders/parents will be fully briefed prior to the ride out with regards to what we are looking for on the day. We will also be giving both riders and parents an outline of our plans for the year, including further training days, the CUYA league format, all participation events and joint ventures with other cycling disciplines.

As always, we will be looking for some parents to help on the day, perhaps with one of the cars etc and if you are interested in doing this please contact me below.

Lunch will be provided and we would expect the day to close around 2pm. The ride out will have full support vehicles and Ambutran will be there on the day. The cost for the day will be £5.

Please note that all participants must hold a 2018 licence
