Current Cycling Ireland Board member and former Cycling Ulster Executive member, Anthony Mitchell has been elected to the Board of the NI Commonwealth Games Council (NICGC). Mitchell was elected at the NICGC’s AGM earlier this month.

Mitchell has been involved in cycling administration for many years and as well as serving in roles within Cycling Ulster and Cycling Ireland, he has also managed the NI Commonwealth Games Cycling Team at youth level and more recently the senior squad at the Gold Coast in March.

Speaking following his election, Cycling Ulster representative to the NICGC, Julie Rea said:

“Anthony has served the sport of cycling for many years and will bring vast experience and knowledge to this role on the NI Commonwealth Games Council. I would like to congratulate him on behalf of Cycling Ulster and wish him all the best in his new position.”
