There is an opportunity for clubs within the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area to apply for funding through their Sports Development Unit.

Funding is available thanks to the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programme Body.

PEACE IV Sports Club Twinning Project is aimed at creating a sports project   between clubs from different parts of the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council (MEABC) area.

They are aiming to create 5 partnerships across the council area to participate in sports coaching and coach education sessions and community relations workshops, up until March 2020. MEABC will fund all costs associated with the programme, including room hire, facilitators and other additional costs.

We anticipate the funding will be worth in the region of £10,000 per partnership.

This would be a great project if several cycling clubs could get together and apply for this funding stream or alternatively apply in partnership with another sport in their locality with similar training and coaching needs, i.e. First Aid, Safeguarding, Bike Maintenance etc.
