Ulster riders had a successful outing at the Irish National Cross-country Mountain Bike Championships which took place at Djouce Woods in County Wicklow on Sunday 23 July. Gareth McKee (Banbridge CC) and Ciara MacManus (Summit MTB) showed how strong the Ulster XC scene is at present by lifting the senior men and women’s titles respectively. Thomas Creighton (McConvey Cycles) won the junior men’s title while there was also podium success in the youth ranks for Niamh McKiverigan (Powerhouse), Darren Rafferty (Island Whs), Dean Harvey (Kinning Cycles), Erin Creighton (XMTB), Adam Rafferty (Island Whs), Shane Scullion (Island Whs), Aine Doherty (VC Glendale) and Keela Smyth (Apollo CT).
