The Mary Peters Trust currently has an opportunity for athletes to receive an annual award of £2,000, the ‘Make It Happen’ Awards.

This is funded equally by specialist insurance broker Bluefin Sport and the Mary Peters Trust.

Athletes should apply for their proposed specialist training and/or coaching that will ‘Make It Happen’ in their sporting career.

This is aimed at finding an athlete who is goingto use the money to help them step up, ie spend time with a specialist coach in England or move away to concentrate on their sport. Something that will make a difference to them and their sporting career. If you have any queries please contact the MPT office.

MPT expects one or maximum two from each Governing Body. Deadline for applications at MPT is Friday 15th November. This is short notice!

However, applicants must submit to the Cycling Ulster representative, Mark Moroney (jmarkmoroney@gmail.com) by close of business on Thursday 14th November.

A shortlist of candidates will be interviewed by the MPT selection Team. If U18 it is essential a coach or parent escorts them and if over 18 sometimes it’s nice to have someone else there. (Interviews will be 10 mins long and will take place on Monday 2nd December between 7pm-8.30/9pm.)
