Cycling Ulster Executive member, Mark Moroney is encouraging young riders in the province to apply for the Mary Peters Trust Awards.

Speaking about the latest awards cycle, Mark said:

“The opportunity for cyclists to get a Mary Peters Trust Award for 2019 will be in this funding round. I know there are many talented young cyclists in the province who would benefit from some assistance that this award can offer.

“Any interested Cycling Ulster member should follow the instructions for applying on the Mary Peters Trust Award website. Applications must be submitted by 8th March. I wish all applicants the best of luck.”

Full information on the Mary Peters trust along with an application may be found at http://marypeterstrust.org/

Applications for funding must first be sent to the trust and the trust will forward to Cycling Ulster for approval.

Applications for 2019 are required immediately if they are to be considered and must be in before 8th March.

Finally, please note that submission of an application is not a guarantee of funding.

About Mary Peters Trust

The Mary Peters trust is Northern Ireland’s leading sporting charity. It helps young people, both disabled and able bodied, achieve sporting dreams and ambitions. Over the last several years the trust has funded several young cyclists by providing grants that enable the athlete to buy kit, travel to competitions, pay for entrance to events, help with trip costs for warm weather training or provide other funds required to reach the next level.
