Foyle Cycling Club get their promotion of the 2019 Irish National Road Championships underway with the time-trial event taking place tomorrow (Thursday). This is followed by the road races on Saturday and Sunday.

Welcoming the prestigious events to the province, Cycling Ulster Chairman, Tommy McCague said:

“The national championships are the highlight on the cycling calendar for all the disciplines and it is great to see Foyle CC stepping forward to promote the road time-trial and road race this year.

“The best of Irish talent will be on display on the streets and roads of Derry this weekend. It is a great opportunity for fans of the sport to get out there and show their support as well as having the opportunity to watch up close our top riders who are competing at the highest international level in men’s and women’s road cycling.

“I know there has been a major effort put into promoting the events and on behalf of Cycling Ulster, I want to thank Foyle CC, the many sponsors including Derry City and Strabane District Council and all those involved in ensuring the championships are a major success.”
