Team Time Trial -Woodgreen

A wet and cold evening saw a very close 25 mile team time trial competition on Tuesday evening at Woodgreen. The Team competition, hosted by Phoenix CC, proved to be popular, with twelve teams competing in the open event. Despite the poor weather conditions teams went all ot for victory and the result could hardly have been closer with Total Cycling winning taking the laurels from Audi/East Antrim CC by a mwere one second. Total Cycling ( Adrian McDermott, Sean Hargan, Mike McLoone, Paul Hanna) finished in a time of 52 minutes 38 secs with East Antrim Audi (Stephen McKenna, Gary Cranston, Jim McConnell, Ben Morrow) ay 52.39. Third place went to Ballymena Road Club (D Dougan, R Currie, L Nelson, C McCaughan) with a time of 54.39 B team who pipped hosts Phoenix CC's A team (S Bennett, M Ward, P Harte, A Flannery) 54.53 for a place in the prizes. Congratulations to the Cycling Ulster Junior squad of John Sloan, David Mulholland amd Michael Murray. Riding together for the first time it was also their first time taking part in such an event, they still managed to come in under the hour and won the Junior prize. With determination such as this we can look forward to a bright future.
