Fraser Duncan Takes East Tyrone Spring Classic
Fraser Duncan (Northern CC) claimed his first victory of the season when he won the East Tyrone Spring Classic at Moneymore. Duncan soled home alone ahead of the 90 strong field with Conor Murphy (Crannog Ireland) and Paul Harte (Phoenix) finishing second and third.
Despite cold, lustery conditions the second bunch managed to catch the third cats and vets within a few laps. Fraser, who has been unlucky not to make the breaks in previous races, was determined to move clear on this occasion.
He was delighted with his win and said, "I feel as if I am beginning to get real form at last. Today was a good hard race and everyone kept the pace high."
Fraser heads for the Shay Elliott in Bray next weekend as part of a Cycling Ulster Development squad. His team mates will be Matthew Ward (Phoenix CC), Mark Greer (Maryland), Martyn Irvine (Ards CC)with Peter Hawkins and Glenn Kinning of Castlereagh CC.
In the womenscycling.net series Ann McFarland (Omagh Wheelers) proved a srong finisher and rode clear to take first place.

Cycling Ulster would like to wish Finbar Cummins(Phoenix CC) and Conor McAllister (Ballymena RC)a speedy recovery from the injuries they sustained during the race. We heard that there was a third rider injured but did not hear who it was. If this is the case we hope you recover soon.
