Ward Wins Newbridge Grand Prix

Cycling Ulster's Matthew Ward took his first win of the season with a superb ride at the Newbridge Credit Union Grand Prix in County Kildare today. The 23-year-old Phoenix CC rider only returned from the CU training camp in Majorca on Saturday but made the long journey to Newbridge on Sunday to "get a few racing miles in". He ended up in the break with Shane Baker (Usher Irish Road Club) and Eugene Moriarty (Cycleways.com) and won the sprint finish after 63 miles of hard racing. Congratulations also to Paul Harte of Phoenix CC who finished in 11th place in this top ranked race.
