The Executive of Cycling Ulster has received a number of enquiries from race promoters regarding upcoming events. As part of an all Ireland body Cycling Ulster is working closely with Cycling Ireland and is monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis.

The CEO and Board of Cycling Ireland have been monitoring and interacting with the HSE and have been following the expert advice given by them.

As things are currently escalating all around us with travel bans and many sporting bodies and cycling clubs acting independently to cancel events, the situation is constantly evolving.

Naturally race organisers are wanting to promote the sport but the current
evolving situation and the responsible activation of “social distancing”
could well see the situation changing at very short notice with high level
decisions being imposed.

The Board of Cycling Ireland are meeting tonight to discuss the situation and they are also monitoring on-going decisions being taken by other bodies.

Cycling Ulster will continue to liaise with Cycling Ireland and will up-date our members as soon as any decision has been taken.
