The Cycling Ulster road commission are pleased to announce a five man team for the Junior Tour of Ireland. The biggest race for junior riders in the country takes place over six days next week in County Clare.

The event gets underway with an individual time trial on Tuesday followed by five road race stages. The road stages tackle some of the most iconic roads and scenery in the west of the country including the Cliffs of Moher and the hilltop finish on Gallows Hill.

The Ulster team contains riders who have shown some excellent consistency throughout the season. Two of the team members, Liam Wilson (Powerhouse Sport) and John Buller (Banbridge CC) displayed some strong form just last weekend with two stage victories in the Newry Three Day.

The team will be managed by Peter McBride and kitted out in their MDS Sports Biemme clothing sponsored by O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors.

Cycling Ulster will also be represented in the race by riders on several club teams and the Irish national team. We would like to wish all of the young riders in the race the best of luck. Whatever the results next week, our young riders will gain great experience from this event and remember the race is just a stepping stone for long time involvement in the sport.
