The Cycling Ulster Road Commission are pleased to announce that a team will be taking part in the Junior Tour of Wales this coming weekend, Friday 25th to Monday 28th August. The 100 riders entered for the event include some of the top juniors from across Britain and Ireland. The Ulster team is made up of double stage winner at the Irish Junior Tour, John Buller (Banbridge CC), Ethan Downey (Clann Éireann) and Powerhouse Sport duo, Breandan Flanagan and PJ Doogan.

Speaking on the announcement of the team, Secretary of the road commission, Patrick Withers said “This is the final event that Ulster will be sending a male road team to this season and will hopefully end our season on a high. At the beginning of the year we set out an ambitious programme for our senior and junior riders and this has been supported by the Cycling Ulster Executive and some valuable volunteers who have accompanied the teams on the trips in Ireland, the UK and France. We would like to thank everyone involved during the year, particular those behind the purchasing of a van and car which has improved the ability of Cycling Ulster to support our men’s road teams and the other branches of our sport this season and also thanks to the kit sponsors that came on board for 2017, O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors and MDS Sports.”

Cycling Ulster wishes the team and the support crew of Peter McBride (Manager), Conor McIlwaine (Soigneur) and Calvin Moore (Mechanic) the best of luck.
