The Cycling Ulster Road Commission will hold their first activity of 2019 with a training day on Saturday 16th February. The day will consist of a road spin together with talks and advice on several topics in relation to training and performance.

Speaking of their plans for the year, CU Road Commission Chair, Patrick Withers said:

“The training day will be our first activity of the year. We haven’t held an event focused on training and development in a few years so it will be nice to offer something different. The training event will be based at Newry Leisure Centre and we have 2018 Cycling Ireland Coach of the Year, Barry Monaghan taking charge for the day.

“Commitment to the Cycling Ulster Road Commission’s activities will form part of the selection policy for Ulster road teams this season so all riders interested in representing the province should make every effort to attend although missing through exceptional circumstances will be taking into consideration.

“We are hoping to run a similar racing programme to last year which will include some British Grand Prix Series events for our seniors and under 23s and then the likes of the Junior Tour of Ireland for our junior riders.”

The event is open to males in the following categories; Senior (A1 only), U23 (A1/A2 only), U20 (A1/A2/A3 only) and Junior (all)

Full plans for the day will be released for participants closer to the time.
